I think I liked this book, but that could be because it was TCP 2.0. That doesn’t make it worse, and if you loved TCP, then you’ll like this. But the romance is the exact same. The. Exact. Same.
‼️SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT‼️
Suren: I know many people didn't like her, but I think she was the saving grace of this book. I related to her and appreciated that she remained positive despite everything she went through. I like that she tries to be clever like Jude but fails, lol. I also liked seeing Jude through her eyes. She doesn't see her in a positive or negative light. Just someone who was involved in a dark part of her life.
Oak: oh boy. Cardan copy (see what I did there?). I really wanted more from Oak, and even though he was like Cardan, he was a watered-down version. We're told how charming Oak is, but is he really? Because shit always hits the fan.
The side characters were cool, was kinda more interested in their romance story 🫣
The ending was good. It ends on a cliffhanger, but I was not super shocked. The ending was HEAVILY foreshadowed. I felt it was fairly obvious, but that’s just my opinion.
A side note, I'm not sure how I feel about Oak being part goat 😅 like Suren mentions her foot touching his furry leg near his hoof. It was supposed to be romantic, but I cringed. Also, like...where do the goat parts start? Asking for a friend 😂 like, is YOU KNOW WHAT a goat one???? Am I being weird? I don't know, but it crossed my mind. 🙃
